My mind's sloughing cells
and it gives me nostalgia
of stale summer snakes.
I wonder,
did you ever wonder
about my adulthood?
Did you believe
that two tiny fish braids
would dip slim black pens
that would brand
the inside of your soul?
Because I didn't.

It does make me wonder what my parents actually envisioned and now that I am me...did I do right by them? Thank you for sharing.
Yi. I don't like spiders and snakes....
ReplyDeleteMadison, some people don't have the heart to appreciate the gift of childhood and the promise of future which can be seen in the sparkling eyes of precious children.
ReplyDeleteYou are a treasure to all who truly understand the depth of your feelings, memories and mastery of words.
Excellent questions that you've posed, but unfortunately some people are blinded by their own egos, distorted memories and outside influences.
Celebrate your mom and others who are open to your warmth and heart.
