I fluttered from caves,
counting tall constellations,
like a thirsty fruit bat,
lost in starless migrations.
I hollowed ripe berries,
from a sultry green leaf,
and drank to the moon,
with the night in my teeth.
I agree with the previous commenter! I was reading along, enjoying it, and then it decided to swoop me up and into the bat's world, which turned out to be more vibrant, and larger, than expected! Wonderful stuff.

Wow. This stanza is beautiful, darling. The succession of things is superb.
