Morning porches woke the dawn,
sprouting bleeding centerfolds.
Novels spilled across the lawn,
accompany the marigolds.
You filled oyster baskets
and lined cardboard caskets,
with remnants of a former life.
I drenched painted lashes
while you scattered the ashes,
but I found where you buried the knife.
